The Borsod Volán Public Transportation Closed
Company’s history roots back more than 60 years. The company has been complying with its duty to
sustain bus shuttles and long distance public transportation in BorsodAbaújZemplénCounty. Furthermore, the company also
conducts local and city public transportation in three other cities, namely
Ózd, Tiszaújváros and Kazincbarcika.
The company’s scope of business also includes
public transportation by special shuttles and contractual transportation and
several other industrial activities. Such activities contain vehicle spare part
repair, vehicle overhaul and service and vehicle washing; all those activities
that constitute the background industry and supplementary actions for public
transportation to be conducted in accordance with the schedules. The company’s
major indexes are as follows: a staff of 1748, and 523 buses. It transports
more than 50 million passengers annually on a distance of over 32 million
kilometers. It has seven technical and traffic subsidiaries, eleven bus
stations to render transportation services. The annual revenue reaches 12,5
billion HUF.

Company was all prepared to provide its service assortment of an improved
quality to its passengers. Quality is a high priority issue for us. To prove
this point we have launched and we have been applying those controlling systems
that primarily embrace quality control environment oriented environmental
awareness and control.
As regards our improvements we concentrate on
our vehicle fleet of course, as it is our crucial policy to preserve their
aesthetical outlook and reliability and to abide by the environmental norms.
Naturally, all technical parameters are considered, since proper vehicles must
be provided.
We are proud of that we have maintained public
transportation for more than 60 years in this county, which is not a simple
task, since the number of settlements in the county is 357. This figure exceeds
those of some particular regions. Of these settlements 77 are dead-end villages
and 138 ones have a population less than 500 people each. 284 villages cannot
be approached by railway, only by buses. In knowledge of this it is important
to remark that no serious traffic default has occurred in the public
transportation of the county to date as the Borsod Volán Closed Company has
rendered its services to its passengers even in the harshest whether
conditions. Hopefully, the company will carry on running on the roads for the
passengers’ full satisfaction in and over BorsodCounty in the far future.
